Reason is a rack emulator application for Windows. With this utility you can create musical tracks using virtual instruments, including synthesizers, samplers and sequencers. Input mode from external MIDI keyboards is supported.

Selection of instruments

After starting the program, you need to configure the parameters for sound recording and select the desired instruments. To do this, you have to drag them to the workspace, which is a virtual rack. It is possible to arrange the devices in the appropriate order.

Additional equipment is available, including mixing consoles, sequencers, and sound editing tools. The utility also contains a selection of additional plug-ins. Another helpful software for musicians is TRAKTOR DJ MIXER.

Recording and editing

You can use real or virtual instruments and their combinations to create tracks. You may also add pre-made samples. The catalog includes sounds of drums, violin, piano and so on.

A two-band parametric equalizer is available to adjust the frequency characteristics of the music. The program also contains a reverb and a large number of filters.
