The Dude
The Dude is a Windows program for managing your local network environment. It is possible to construct a virtual map of all connected clients and monitor various services. You can configure email alerts in case of technical issues.
How it works
On first startup users are instructed to establish a connection with the server by entering the IP address, port and credentials. Network port is adjustable as well. After logging in the utility will automatically scan the network to locate every connected client.
Similar to Microsoft Network Monitor, you can analyze incoming and outgoing traffic. This functionality is useful for detecting any connection abnormalities.
Device map
Users are able to view a simplified network layout in the main window. All hardware is represented by various icons that are linked by black lines to imitate wired connections. There are editing tools for adding new elements to the diagram or modifying existing items.
