Spotify is a Windows utility for listening to music, audiobooks and podcasts. You can view personal recommendations based on the previously liked songs. All content is split in multiple categories by type, year and genre for easier navigation.

Getting started

An account on the official website is required for accessing the main interface. After logging in users can search for artists, albums or specific songs and add them to the personal library. Standard playback controls are located at the bottom of the window. Like in Winamp, there are buttons for skipping the current track and randomizing the playlist.

Please note that some advanced features are unavailable in the free version of the app.

Social media integration

It is possible to connect your Facebook account to Spotify and import the list of friends from it. There are options to automatically publish new playlists and share all listening activity on the personal social media page.

Additional parameters

An included 6 band equalizer lets you tune high, mid and low sound frequencies. A toggle for enabling crossfade effects to ensure smooth transitions between the songs is available as well.

Flexible network settings are provided. Users are able to add a custom proxy server for rerouting all web traffic.
