Swiftshader
CPU-based Vulkan graphics implementation for software rendering and hardware-independent testing. The current project is maintained as source code.
About Swiftshader
SwiftShader is a high-performance CPU implementation of the Vulkan graphics API. It is used for software rendering, testing and environments where a suitable GPU or driver is unavailable. It is a graphics library and driver implementation, not a general application for editing DLL files.
Project status
The old 3.0 package predates the current Google-maintained Vulkan project and is retained only as a clean legacy archive. The maintained source is mirrored on GitHub from swiftshader.googlesource.com and receives current changes; production users should build or obtain binaries through the software that integrates SwiftShader.
Integration safety
Do not replace system graphics DLLs or copy arbitrary binaries into unrelated applications. Follow the official build and Vulkan ICD instructions, keep the original files backed up and verify licensing for redistributed binaries.
Features
- free to download and use;
- compatible with modern Windows versions;
- allows you to develop Vulkan applications;
- you have the ability to convert graphics API;
- it is possible to modify DLL files.
