Renoise is a comprehensive program for Windows that provides you with features for recording, editing, composing, and rendering audio tracks. The digital audio workstation also comes with a wide range of special effects, plugins, and other capabilities.

General notes

After launch, you may be overwhelmed by the complexity of the graphical interface, especially if you do not have prior experience with such software. However, there is a help menu included, meaning you can easily learn about main functionalities.

The utility enables you to transform sounds into songs via the in-built pattern editor. It is possible to add new note columns, and view additional details like the instrument number, volume, panning, etc. You can also move the data from one pattern to another by dragging and dropping.

Add plugins and group tracks

Similar to FL Studio, the application has several native effects, and there is also support for VST, LADSPA, and AudioUnits plugins. It allows you to search for desired items by name, and activate them by moving them into the dedicated window.

Another standout aspect of this tool is the ability to group similar tracks together. This is done by dragging the selected audio files to the workspace. Please note that the groups and tracks can be collapsed, and you also have the option to modify their colors.
