Eeebuntu
Eeebuntu is a Windows program package that allows you to install an operating system of the same name. It is a variant of Ubuntu specifically designed for the Asus Eee PC line of netbook computers. Originally, it was a simple collection of scripts and hacks to get Ubuntu 8.04 onto an Eee PC, but it grew into a distribution of its own.
Compatibility
All EeePC models are supported, including the following:
- 701;
- 900;
- 900A;
- 90x;
- 1000;

- 1000HD.
It is also necessary to note that all editions of Eeebuntu are equipped with a EeeConfigure installer, which simplifies installation and configuration for a given netbook model.
Package contents
This version contains a complete set of Internet applications, including Mozilla Firefox for web browsing, Pidgin for instant messaging, Thunderbird writing emails and OpenOffice.org for processing office documents. It also provides access to a number of multimedia programs, including VLC for watching movies and Banshee for listening to music.
The distribution uses a modified Linux kernel, maintained by Adam McDaniel, which ensures the full use of the hardware components of the entire Asus Eee PC model line, as well as netbooks from other manufacturers.
