Soundtrap
Soundtrap is a Windows program that allows you to capture audio input from various external devices like a microphone or MIDI controller. It is possible to modify recorded tracks by trimming and rearranging individual sections. A collection of effects like crossfade and transpose is provided.
Recording process
After starting the utility users can import audio files from the hard drive or select virtual musical instruments and sound samples from the included library. It is important to mention that some features and content are not available in the free version of Soundtrap.
Like in Bitwig Studio, you are able to adjust the output volume and gain of every individual track. The embedded frequency equalizer contains multiple bands for fine tuning the sound. Effects such as reverb, delay, chorus, flanger, phaser and distortion are included as well.
The application comes with over 430 virtual instruments that can be played with the help of a keyboard, mouse or MIDI controller. There are multiple categories like drums, bass, guitar, piano, synth, strings, brass, woodwind, percussion, etc. Users can enable the Amplifier plugin to add realistic amp simulations to the track.
