Windows Sidebar
Retired Windows Vista/7 desktop-gadget platform; third-party ports for newer Windows releases are not supported by Microsoft.
About Windows Sidebar
Windows Sidebar hosted clock, weather, system-monitor and other HTML/JavaScript gadgets on the Windows Vista and 7 desktop. Microsoft later retired the Desktop Gadgets platform.
Why it was removed
Microsoft states that gadgets were deprecated and exposed security vulnerabilities: even a benign gadget could be exploited. The platform was removed from Windows 8, and developers were told not to bundle gadgets with applications.
Unofficial package
DM Edition 6.0.6003.20103 is not a Microsoft release for Windows 10. Despite its clean scan, the system-component installer is blocked because the platform is unsupported and third-party gadgets add further risk.
