Super PI

Super PI is a portable Windows program that helps you calculate the Pi number with a high amount of digits. You can utilize this application to learn the digits and use them later in various scientific calculations.

General notes

The Pi number is well known by both students and professionals from all over the world. It is used by engineers, statisticians and designers to solve various problems. The Pi-based computations are also present in geospatial programs like QGIS.

Many times the calculations are done only with the first digits but there is more to this number. Since this is a transcendental number, it has an infinite number of non-repeating digits.

Functionality

This utility is capable of calculating the first 32 million digits using the Fast Fourier transform and Borwein’s algorithms. Basically, the software uses advanced calculation methods to generate a great number of decimals.

The graphical interface is easy to use. Moreover, it displays the time of the last performed calculation. The Calculate menu enables you to select how many digits you want to generate, and then the tool calculates them. The results are saved to a text file that can be copied or imported into another app.

Advanced calculations

Please note, to calculate a higher number the program needs more computer resources. It may become unresponsive for a long period of time. However, simple calculations are done almost instantly with insignificant resource consumption.
