Steuerbot is a Windows utility that enables German users to manage their taxes. It provides live updates on potential refunds. There is support for strict data protection algorithms to ensure that confidential information is securely transferred to the government office.

How it works

After starting the program you are prompted to register or log into the personal account. The next step is to share financial details with the integrated AI chatbot. It is possible to specify the desired year, marital status, income sources, applicable deductions and other information by answering simple questions. Please note that some tax categories are not supported, including:

• Self employment;
• Agriculture or forestry;
• Foreign wages;
• Maintenance payments.

Upon completing the form users can review it and make the necessary changes. Resulting documents might be sent to the tax office via ELSTER. This prevents potential leaks of sensitive data during transfer and ensures full privacy. It is important to mention that the application does not provide obsolete tax return forms for 2014 and earlier.

Refunds

Like in TurboTax, the amount of money owed by the government is updated automatically as you fill in the declaration. Steuerbot strictly adheres to the European data protection regulations, meaning that it guarantees the safety of all financial information sent and received through the app.
