Magic TXD

Magic TXD is a Windows software that serves as an editor for archives with the eponymous extension. The primary function of this app is to create new textures for computer games. Additionally, it allows editing levels and maps. There is an option to integrate with the context menu for previewing archive contents.

Compatibility

Thanks to this utility, you can open and view files in TXD format. The app supports the following games:

• Manhunt
• GTA Vice City;
• GTA San Andreas;
• Sonic Heroes;
• and others.

The program enables the creation of texture packs for various platforms, including Xbox and PSP. It also supports all DXT compression algorithms.

Editing

Upon launching the utility, users need to specify the path to the archive. Then, they can select an image for editing. It is possible to change the format, add artwork, and choose texture rendering parameters. The export function is available for files with extensions JPG, PNG, DDS, or TGA.

The program allows applying MIP texture mapping to enhance the quality of displayed objects. Multiple copies with different levels of detail are created for each image. Depending on the screen resolution, the most suitable image will be selected.
