GanttProject

GanttProject is a free desktop project management program for computers running the Windows operating system. It was developed with the purpose of assisting users in effectively organizing their time and resources.

Create detailed charts

The graphical interface features a tabbed display, allowing you to switch between the Gantt chart and resource views. The application has an overall user-friendly appearance. This means you do not need to have advanced technical knowledge or prior experience.

Similar to OpenProj, you can add an unlimited number of tasks. It is possible to include details such as the start date, deadline, priority, required resources, and coordinator. To emphasize important assignments, you may take advantage of the color coding system.

Resources typically refer to the human aspect of the tasks. This is why you can enter important information like a name, telephone number, email address, role in the project, and scheduled days off. Moreover, you can access a log to review any unexpected errors or crashes.

The software comes with a handy search tool that enables you to quickly locate assignments or resources by typing in a keyword. There is also an option to generate PERT charts, which visually illustrate the tasks necessary for project completion.
