Android Studio

Android Studio is a Windows software development platform that allows you to design mobile apps for Android smartphones and tablets. The included code editor supports the Kotlin, Java and C++ programming languages. There are emulation instruments for testing and debugging purposes.

New project

After starting the utility users are prompted to select an existing application for editing or create a blank project. A large collection of interface templates for smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, Android TVs and embedded car systems is provided. The next step is to specify the package name, location and API requirements. All necessary libraries are downloaded and installed automatically.

Code editor

The main window contains a section with the project structure and an area for manually modifying the code. Similar to RubyMine, all syntax elements are highlighted for easier navigation. You can use autofill suggestions to quickly generate new code snippets.

Debugging

Users are able to quickly compile and test the application to detect any potential technical issues. It is possible to add custom environment variables before starting the operation.
