PCDJ DEX is a Windows software for musicians and DJs. It allows you to mix samples and effects with music tracks. It is possible to loop the playback.

Interface

The main window offers users four decks with independent audio parameters. There is a playlist provided as well as a sidelist for additional samples and clips. Users are able to import audio files into the utility. All popular file formats are supported.

It is possible to import your sound libraries from popular online services such as Beatport, Soundcloud, Beatsource and TIDAL. All available songs and samples are displayed in the included browser. You can drag and drop them into the decks to start the playback.

This tool can only work with digital inputs. Users can download another app from the same developer called PCDJ Red Mobile to utilize the physical MIDI keyboard.

Sound settings

There are pitch sliders for tuning the music as well as echo and reverb effects. Moreover, users can loop the playback and change the tempo.

Up to six cue points can be made in every deck for quick access to certain song fragments. You can configure mixing intervals to seamlessly switch between the songs.

Equalizer parameters include separate knobs for high, mid and low frequencies. Additional cut-off filter is provided for normalizing the volume.

Please note that PCDJ DEX is a paid software. The free trial version has to be restarted every 20 minutes.
