mp3DirectCut is a Windows utility for modifying audio tracks. Users are able to copy and delete parts of a music composition. Similar to AVS Audio Editor, the program supports multiple common file formats like MP3 and AAC. It is possible to record the input from an external sound card.

Editing process

You can rearrange the segments of a song by setting start and finish markers to select the fragment. The next step is to choose the required action from the main toolbar. Instruments for merging several audio files into one composition are provided as well. Every track is displayed on the timeline for easier editing. The scale is adjustable.

Audio effects

It is possible to attenuate, amplify or normalize the output sound volume. Users are able to automatically split long recordings into separate songs. The program will detect pauses and create new cue points.

There is an option to save the project as an index map that contains detailed information about all modifications and links to all required additional files. This functionality is helpful for managing large projects with multiple audio tracks, samples, filters and other elements.
