Huawei Modem Unlocker is a Windows utility for removing artificial restrictions from 3G modems. It allows you to use SIM cards from several network service providers for connecting to the internet.

Unlocking process

After starting the software users are instructed to connect the modem to the computer. The device will be detected automatically. Alternatively, it is possible to manually scan all USB ports to locate the hardware. Please note that non-Huawei hardware is not compatible with this application. The next step is to calculate unlocking codes by entering the IMEI number associated with the new SIM card and clicking the corresponding button in the main window.

The list of all available options is displayed on the right side. It includes relocking the modem, checking the status, enabling voice feature and returning the device to default factory settings.

It is worth mentioning that this app does not contain instruments for interacting with Huawei smartphones. There are other programs like Octoplus FRP Tool for this purpose.

Additional functionality

Users can increase maximum download and upload speeds for certain modem models. However, it may lead to hardware overheating and unstable connection. It is easy to roll back all changes in case of technical difficulties.
