Desktop Quran is a Windows utility that lets you read Muslim religious books. A large selection of Quran versions and other texts is provided.

How to install

After downloading the executable file users can run it to begin setting up the tool. Any location on the computer can be specified for the installation.

On first startup the app will download the main versions of the texts and other additional files and databases for displaying arabic characters. This process can take up to 5 minutes.

Interface

The main window contains a list of chapters and bookmarks. You can quickly jump to any one of the 30 Quran parts. Moreover, the search field is available for looking up the specific words and phrases. Additional books can be downloaded through the “More Masahef” menu.

This program offers only Muslim texts. To work with the Bible users can download OpenSong.

You are able to read the books or listen to them. There is a wide variety of voices in several languages available to choose from. The interface language can also be changed.

There are several visual skins provided for the main window. They offer users different images of Islamic holy places as backgrounds for the text. The overall window brightness can be adjusted as well.
