Cardiris is a powerful program for Windows that enables users to scan and organize business cards. With the help of this utility they are able to inspect, recognize and archive IDs to turn them into an address database.

General notes

The software solution is capable of processing business cards of any type from more than two hundred countries. Thanks to the Optical Character Recognition technology, the data is extracted automatically from the picture. Then it is converted into editable text format and inserted in the correct fields.

It is necessary to note that the application relies on a knowledge database, acquiring the necessary information to discern between first and last names, cities and states, fax and telephone numbers, and more.

Additionally, the field analysis also takes into consideration the type of card layout, as each country has a different style of structuring business cards. If you encounter an ID in a language that is not supported by the program, you may scan the image without enabling OCR and simply insert it into the database.

The business cards you scan constitute the Cardiris database. The extracted data may be sorted, searched, printed, exported to and synchronized with other contact managers like ABBYY Business Card Reader or BizCard Finder.
