WUSB54G is a Windows application for integrating drivers for the Wi-Fi USB cards from Linksys. There is support for several hardware models.

Installation process

The driver comes in a ZIP archive. After extracting the contents in any location on the PC you can run the setup.exe file. There is an included wizard tool with step by step instructions.

It is possible to install the utility in two modes: Infrastructure and Ad-Hoc. The first method implies that wireless devices will communicate with each other through a separate access point. Alternatively, users are able to select the Ad-Hoc mode to link the computers without additional hardware.

You can enter the SSID for the wireless network and click Next. The last step is to adjust the security settings. The WEP, PSK and RADIUS protocols are available for protecting the connection. It is not recommended to leave this option disabled.

If the card is not recognized by the operating system users can try installing the Linksys WPC54G driver.

About Wireless-G USB Network Adapter

This device is intended for adding Wi-Fi capabilities to the computer. It can be attached to any free USB port. After installing the drivers users are able to establish a wireless link.

Please note that WUSB54G is an obsolete software. All its functionality is included in Windows Vista and newer.
