Weather Message is a program for Windows that provides desktop weather warnings for computers. It includes features such as text notifications for stations connected to your network, visual alerts for all counties in the United States, and the ability to send messages to pagers and cellular phones. To view atmospheric conditions in other countries, you may try an app called WeatherBug.

Main capabilities

The tool functions by receiving weather data from the Emergency Managers Weather Information Network. It is possible to collect messages by direct ingestion from a satellite, radio modem, or Internet servers. The gathered information is processed against alarms in your setup.

One of the main advantages of this utility is the support for sending abbreviated messages to pagers and cellular phones. It also enables you to issue alarms to computers on your network. Thereby, people connected to LAN can quickly get notified about weather changes.

Compatibility and licensing

The software distribution consists of three components, namely a server, a message client, and a map client. The latter two items communicate with the former through TCP/IP protocol. The supported operating systems include Windows 7, 8.1, and 10.

It is necessary to note that you can archive messages for use by other programs. You have the option to insert these alerts into web pages. Please note that the application can be evaluated for thirty days only. After this period is over, you will need to purchase a license.
