Sun Download Manager is a Windows application for loading the files from the web. You can pause the download operation and resume it later.

Main purpose

This tool allows users to download any files from the internet. The links can be dragged and dropped from any web browser to the main window. There are buttons for starting the process and for retrying a failed attempt.

The output directory for the files is specified in the settings. There is an option to resume the interrupted download operation.

The program does not support the HTTPS protocol. There are alternatives with this functionality like Download Accelerator Plus.

Network settings

You are able to define a number of attempts before the tool will stop trying to access the remote server. Configuring the app to remove partial downloads after the Stop button is clicked is possible as well.

The proxy server parameters such as the IP address and port can be specified. Users are able to add password-protected servers to the settings. Files from these sources are downloaded quickly without prompting users to enter the credentials every time.

It is worth mentioning that Sun Download Manager is discontinued and no longer supported by the developer.
