MuCAD is a specialized Windows utility for designing complex and intricate textile patterns. There is a comprehensive library of custom templates and motifs. Flexible drawing tools are provided as well. It is worth noting that MuCAD is discontinued and no longer supported by the developer. The installation files are not available.

Pattern creation

After starting the program you are instructed to import images from Adobe Illustrator or AutoCAD to begin a new project. Alternatively, it is possible to insert graphics from the included collection. There are instruments for adding lines, curves and shapes to the pattern as well.

Simulation

Users can preview finished designs before starting the weaving process. This functionality is helpful for identifying any potential problems with the pattern such as gaps or overlapping elements.

Export

You are able to generate the necessary weaving data for jacquard looms based on the resulting design. The warp and weft threading order can be manually adjusted to better fit the project. Additionally, an option to insert tie up information for the fabric harness is included.
