Modem Booster is a Windows software that lets users speed up all incoming and outgoing web traffic. There is a module for testing current data rates. Tools for manually adjusting internal connection parameters are included as well. It is important to mention that Modem Booster is discontinued and no longer supported by the developer. The installation files are not available.

Connection test

Similar to SpeedConnect Internet Accelerator, after starting the program you are prompted to evaluate the current internet speed by communicating with a remote server. Results will be displayed in the main window upon finishing the test. It is possible to automatically change various internal modem settings to speed up the traffic.

Customizable parameters

Users can manually adjust hardware characteristics such as:
Maximum Transmission Units;
Time To Live;
RWIN buffer;
client number limit;
maximum amount of duplicate acknowledgements per server;
and other options.

There are instruments for enabling the Black Hole feature. This functionality is helpful for attempting to locate routers that do not forward a key piece of packet information. Such devices can be easily sped up by decreasing the MTU value.
