Driver Collector is a useful program for Windows which can help you to get the appropriate drivers for your hardware. Although it does not come with a feature-rich graphical interface, the application does a good job when it comes to extracting the drivers from your PC and saving them in a dedicated folder.

Principle of operation

The software solution allows you to scan your entire computer for drivers, copy and move them into different directories. Thus, you are able to use them again in case you decide to reinstall Windows operating system on your machine.

Functionality

It is necessary to note that the tool automatically detects hardware attached to your system, so you can save drivers for your display adapters, keyboards, mouse, printer, and other devices. The process itself is quite straightforward. All you need to do is pick the component you wish to scan for, and then press the Copy Files button.

Performance

The procedure takes a few minutes to complete, and once the files are identified, they are automatically backed up to the hard drive. Since it is not possible to manually choose the destination folder, the utility creates one on your main active partition, usually labeled with the letter C.
