YouCent is a Windows online platform that enables users to exchange goods and services without the need for a traditional financial system. It introduces a concept of Promises, which are digital tokens representing a debt or a credit. Please note that an invite from the developer is necessary to register an account.

How it works

You can view the current balance on the personal profile page. This number reflects the total amount of Promises received minus spent tokens. To ensure trust and prevent abuse, YouCent has restrictions on how much virtual currency might be spent without having sufficient funds in the account. It is possible to increase the limit by paying a one time fee.

There are other types of digital money like Bitcoin and Ethereum. Users are able to trade them on KuCoin and other exchanges.

Advantages and drawbacks

The independent platform offers users greater flexibility by eliminating the need for traditional money. This is particularly beneficial for people who do not have access to banks or credit. Moreover, reducing the dependence on obsolete financial institutions leads to more independence and control.

It is important to mention that Promises are unregulated by the government. There is greater danger of scam and fraud attempts compared to normal banks.
