Wordle is a puzzle app available for Windows that offers simple yet captivating gameplay. The main objective of the game is to guess a five-letter word within a limited number of attempts.

Rules

The game consists of a board with six rows, each containing five squares. At the bottom of the screen, there’s a virtual keyboard where players input English words. As they type, each letter is highlighted in one of three colors:

green indicates that the letter is correct and in the right position;
yellow means the letter is correct but in the wrong position;
gray indicates that the letter is not in the word at all.

The game involves analyzing feedback about guessed letters to formulate the next word. Players can enter letters using the virtual keyboard. It is possible to adjust the word before confirming your choice and submit the guess by pressing Enter.

It’s worth noting that the game requires Chrome or any other web browser for access. It doesn’t have a standalone application provided by the developer. All rights to the game are owned by the New York Times.

Users have access to win statistics. Once a word is guessed, the next challenge becomes available after 24 hours.
