Windows 95 is an unofficial open-source program that emulates a Microsoft operating system released in 1995. The software does not require installation to launch and allows users to run applications compatible with the original OS.

Setup

It is necessary to note that the emulator features very low system requirements, namely it needs about two hundred megabytes of free RAM. In order to begin working with the operating system, you can run the executable file by double clicking its icon and wait for the download to complete. Next, a desktop will appear with a standard set of applications.

Capabilities

The emulator gives you the ability to use WordPad, MS Paint, Netscape Navigator browser and other utilities. There are also several games available, including Minesweeper and Klondike.

It is possible to change system settings and install third-part applications. Please note, you have access to five hundred megabytes of virtual disk space. What is more, sound support is provided, which enables you to listen to audio recordings.

Known issues

The developers regularly update the software to eliminate bugs and compatibility issues. However, the latest versions of the program have several problems. For example, when you try to open a website using Internet Explorer, you receive a message that you cannot connect to the network. Cursor twitches and screen freezes are also possible.
