Vselect MUGEN is a small Windows utility for modifying the contents of the MUGEN computer game. Moreover, you can install additional stages and insert them into the gameplay process.

How it works

After starting the program users are prompted to specify the path to the main MUGEN executable file. The character selection screen will be displayed automatically. It is possible to drag and drop player icons to rearrange them on the grid. A library of all in-game characters is provided.

You can assign specific fighters to any stage. Additionally, there is an option to import a custom soundtrack that will accompany the character in every battle.

Users are able to quickly apply the changes and launch the game via the File menu. Software like Cheat Engine can be utilized to edit internal character attributes even further.

Preferences

The Settings menu offers you a checkbox for opening the default configuration file on every startup. The highlight color can be customized as well. There is a toggle for selecting the program behavior when icons are dropped on occupied grid cells. The Advanced tab includes an option to automatically create a backup copy before saving the file.
