Thanks to this application, users are able to flash various USB memory chips. A special adapter is required for connecting devices to the personal computer.
UPA USB
UPA USB is a program for Windows that allows you to access and modify the functions of various USB microcontrollers. It is necessary to mention that you need to have a special adapter to be able to connect them to your PC. If you want to emulate an Arduino board, you can use another utility called Arduino Simulator.
General notes
This is a specialized software designed for flashing EEPROM memory chips manufactured by STMicroelectronics, Motorola and Atmel. It is also suitable for AVR processors with read and programming protection enabled. This application is capable of managing multiple devices connected to your PC via USB ports. It is possible to add as well as remove them.
Moreover, the utility includes a hex editor. This means that you are able to adjust the memory chips by applying hexadecimal, decimal, octal and binary system configurations. Additionally, there is an option to directly view images in JPG, BMP, PNG and GIF formats from a USB drive.
Hex editor
The hexadecimal editor enables you to edit binary files. This is a convenient feature for programming memory chips and microcontrollers. The maximum size of the processed file is about 2 GB, but it depends on the available virtual memory of your computer.
Editor works in overwriting or insert mode. You can easily switch between them using the corresponding buttons located on the bottom of the window status bar. The editor component splits the binary file information into 3 areas called offset, numerical and text. Additionally, you are able to convert from the hexadecimal to the decimal system and vice versa.
