Universal DreamUp is a Windows software for updating internal firmware of DreamBox digital TV receivers. Additionally, users are able to automatically recover bad sectors on some device models.

How it works

After starting the application you can select the correct serial port for communicating with the device. Alternatively, it is possible to connect to the receiver via the local network by entering the remote IP address. The next step is to turn on the DreamBox device and click the Connect button for establishing a link.

When the TV receiver is connected, the Flash button will become active. Users can click it to begin the firmware updating process. The progress bar in the middle of the main window indicates when the operation is complete. All debugging information is displayed in the Log section.

Utilities like dreamboxEDIT allow you to watch satellite TV channels on the desktop using DreamBox receivers.

Advanced capabilities

The program contains instruments for recovering bad sectors in the device bootloader. Supported receivers include DM600pvr, DM500+, DM7025, DM800se and many other models. Please note that this operation may cause errors and performance issues.
