TRAKTOR DJ MIXER is a Windows application designed for editing music and mixing tracks. The main focus of the developers is the simplicity and accessibility of the program.

Interface

The interface of the software is quite simple. You can see the sound wave at the top and two decks at the bottom. You may apply the effects that are built into the program to the signal.

Music library

There are three ways to get music into the library. In the first method, the tracks are downloaded directly from the browser in the application. At the bottom left of the screen you will see a window with a set of folders. This lists all the audio files that Traktor recognizes on your hard drive.

The second method is for macOS laptop users only.

Finally, the third option is to drag a track from your hard drive to one of the virtual decks at the top of the application screen.

Analyzing tracks

After you have downloaded the tracks, you can analyze them. This allows the program to calculate the BPM, automatically create a beatgrid and set other attributes and metadata for your music.
