StuffIt Expander is a Windows software for unpacking compressed packages. Users can integrate the program into the Windows Explorer context menu for quick access to main functions.

Usage instructions

After installing the utility you can launch it by running the executable file. The next step is to drag and drop the compatible archive into the workspace or locate the package manually by clicking the Browse button. A popup window for selecting the target destination will appear. Finally, you are prompted to click OK to begin the unpacking process.

Parameters

Similar to WinArchiver, the Settings menu lets users configure file associations to set StuffIt Expander as the main app for opening ZIP, RAR and other types of packages.

A drop-down menu for changing the default target location is provided. You can choose to manually specify the folder every time or automatically unpack the contents in the same directory as the original file. There is a checkbox for erasing the source archive after the operation is complete.
