Snooker147 is a Windows billiard video game designed with 2D graphics. You can play with the computer or take turns with your friend on the same PC.

Graphics and gameplay

Snooker147 offers a 2D graphical interface. Mouse is used for controlling the game. You can adjust the power of the cue hit and a position on the ball where the strike will occur. That last option allows you to curve the ball and do other trick shots.

Three levels of difficulty are available for the AI opponent. Users are able to save the game and finish it later.

To record your gameplay and share it with others you can use a program like Game Cam.

Snooker and pool rules

The snooker billiard variation is played with 22 balls on a standard pool table. The game involves 1 white cue ball, 15 red balls and six balls of other colors:

brown;
yellow;
green;
blue;
pink;
black.

The players take turns striking the white ball with a cue to pocket other balls in a predefined sequence. Each successful move is awarded with points. They are also given whenever the opposing player commits a foul.

To win the game it is necessary to accumulate more points at the end of the game than your opponent.

Another game called Poolster is included with the software. It lets you play a more popular billiard version called pool. In that variation there are seven red balls for one player and seven yellow balls for another. There is also a black ball that should only be hit after pocketing all your colored ones.
