Sniffy Pro is a Windows program that lets you imitate laboratory experiments with rats. There are tools for recording the reactions and analyzing them.

How it works

The main window contains a section with the 3D model of a rat. It is possible to present food to the animal as well as simulate a sound to train the reflective responses. The included Lab Assistant window displays the current conditions and offers users basic instructions.

You can press the spacebar to activate the audio trigger. Repeating the cycle of giving the food and playing the sound will form an automatic reaction in the rat.

The Cumulative Record window displays the graph with behavioral data. To process the information users can download Mathcad.

Conditioning experiments

There is an option to perform classical experiments with one or two stimuli. You are able to adjust the parameters such as the intensity and interval between the stages. Additionally, it is possible to create complex operations with several trial types.

To speed up the time and accelerate the experiment users can select the Isolate Sniffy option. This feature is helpful for long simulations.

It is worth mentioning that this application is distributed on a commercial basis. The free trial version has limited functionality.
