RockPack is a specialized Windows utility oriented toward professional geologists and engineers. There are instruments for calculating rock mass properties and stability to optimize the project design.

Main purpose

You can manually input source data, view analysis results and generate detailed reports. Supported rock mass models include Hoek Brown, Mohr Coulomb, Barton Bandis, and Generalized Hoek Brown. Moreover, it is possible to perform classification using different methods, such as RMR, Q, CSI or RMi.

Tools for estimating rock mass properties like strength, deformation modulus, stress strain curves and failure envelopes are provided. Users are able to analyze the stability of any slope, tunnel, foundation or excavation hole by applying limit equilibrium and finite element methods.

It is worth noting that RockPack is discontinued and no longer supported by the developer. The installation files are not available. You can download other geotechnical engineering apps like Trimble Geomatics Office.

Advanced calculations

There is an option to perform automatic design optimization of rock support systems, including bolts, shotcrete, liners and anchors. This functionality is helpful for ensuring that the rock mass will not move over time. Users are able to account for uncertainty and variability in rock mass properties and loading conditions.

Features

  • free to download and use;
  • provides tools for analyzing rock mass properties;
  • it is possible to design an adequate support system;
  • you can estimate the strength, deformation modulus and other rock attributes;
  • compatible with all modern versions of Windows.
