Robomongo is a Windows software that enables users to easily view, access and edit cross-platform databases developed by MongoDB Inc. This program simplifies the workflow and saves time.

General note

MongoDB is a widely used NoSQL database that supports the various data types and stores information in the document-oriented format. RoboMongo was designed for cases when it becomes very difficult to operate huge volumes of data from the command-line tool. It is a lightweight GUI utility that offers access to the server with an interactive interface.

Setup

When you launch the application, you are given the option to connect to an existing server by creating an entry in its list of available connections. You are able to add as many servers as you like and have multiple sessions running at the same time. Each one will appear in the navigation tree. When clicking on the folders, it is possible to view the number of documents and the total size.

Advantages

Unlike Oracle Database, the software has a fully-functional and intuitive graphical user interface. It allows users to easily view, edit and update databases. The program also runs all operations asynchronously which means that it does not burden the main workspace with unnecessary loading screens.
