Resilio Sync is a Windows program for sharing text documents, photos, audio tracks, video clips and other files over the network. Unlike in Box Sync, all data is synchronized between the devices directly without having to go through an untrusted remote server. It is worth noting that the free version of Resilio Sync contains limited functionality.

File sharing

After starting the application you can drag and drop files or folders to the workspace to begin synchronization. There is a toggle for adjusting access permissions. Additionally, a checkbox for enabling link expiration feature is included.

Users are able to share automatically generated URLs with other people over email or in text messages. Alternatively, it is possible to scan the QR code with the mobile app to receive files on a smartphone or tablet.

Settings

The Preferences menu lets you change the default location for new downloads and enable automatic launch on Windows startup. There are tools for setting traffic limits and customizing the connection port as well. Moreover, an option to enable the proxy server is provided.
