RenderMan is a Windows program for rendering complex 3D graphics. It is based on the classic Reyes architecture from Pixar. Instruments for simulating all types of global illumination, including direct lighting and ambient occlusion are provided. Please note that the free version of RenderMan will expire 120 days after activation.
Rendering process
With the help of this application you are able to design large scenes with millions of 3D objects. There is support for a wide range of volumetric effects such as smoke, clouds and fog. Additionally, it is possible to render subsurface scattering to create realistic images of materials like skin, marble or milk. Fur and hair textures can be designed as well.
Plugins for Maya, Blender and several other 3D graphics editors are included in the package. Users can select specific components during the installation process.
Shaders
The integrated shading language allows you to generate procedural textures. Moreover, there are advanced displacement mapping tools for creating bumps, wrinkles, folds and other visual effects.
Users can render motion blur to imitate moving objects. The depth of field and effect strength are customizable. This functionality is helpful for designing realistic 3D visualizations.
