RegScanner is a Windows program for analyzing the system registry. You are able to locate any text strings in the database and display the list of all found values. There are flexible sorting and filtering settings.

Scan options

Users can start a new search from the File menu. Both 32 and 64-bit modes are provided. The lookup depth is manually adjustable in a range from 0 to 50 subkeys. Moreover, users are able to set this parameter to Infinite for scanning the whole registry.

Any alphanumeric string can be looked up. There is a checkbox for enabling letter case sensitivity. You are able to search for the exact match or any registry items containing at least one of the specified words. It is possible to exclude certain types of data from the results.

A time filter is provided. Users can search for entries that were modified recently. An option for displaying only the strings with predefined length is available.

Analyzing the results

After the scan is complete all located values are listed in the main window. You are able to automatically adjust the column width to match the contents. Any font can be selected for displaying the data.

There is a tool for exporting one or multiple search results to the REG file. Additionally, users can copy the value to a clipboard and paste it into another application such as Texter. Saving the information in the plain text format is an option as well.
