Quartus II is a program for Windows that provides the means for compiling and synthesizing HDL designs, running analysis scenarios and simulating different types of reaction. What is more, it is possible to configure target devices. Please note that the suite features support for such design types as CPLD, ASIC, and FPGA. Various routing models are also available.
New project
The software solution organizes the elements within a project. It contains information about design hierarchy, libraries, constraints, and basic settings. In order to create a new project, you can use a dedicated wizard. The graphical interface gives you access to all corresponding settings and helps to manage all aspects, including:
- logic design, EDA and Qsys files;
- optimization of settings and constraints;
- archiving and migration of projects.
Logic design files
One of the main advantages of using this application is the ability to create and manage the logic design files. When you add them to your project, the Compiler automatically generates programming files for your target device. If you want to be able to access your development assets remotely, you may store them using special utilities such as SourceTree or TortoiseSVN.
