PINReader is a special program for Windows designed to read and calculate PIN codes for various models of cars. Some vehicle variants can use either petrol or diesel. There is support for Volkswagen, Audi, and Skoda, automobile manufacturers.

Setup and GUI

The installation is very straightforward. After downloading the executable file, you need to double click it and follow the instructions provided on the screen. Please note, however, that the utility is no longer maintained nor distributed by the developers.

The graphical interface follows a simple design approach. The layout displays controller ID, component, and shop number, as well as two extra fields at the top. The bottom section is reserved for EEPROM functions, along with a data display.

Functionality

The tool allows you to read and write to the electrically erasable programmable read only memory. It is possible to perform the same actions for the PIN and odometer. You also have the option to work with a hex editor. Alternatively, you can try a standalone software like WinHex.

If you have a proprietary COM cable, you need to manually select the corresponding port number where the dongle is connected. This can be done by navigating to the COM Number section in the Options. Here you may choose the appropriate port.
