Origin is a Windows program for purchasing, downloading and launching video games from the EA Store. You can browse various genres such as action, RPG, MMO, shooter and other categories.

Game store

It is necessary to register an account on the official Electronic Arts website to work with this utility. After logging in users are able to browse the store with thousands of classic and modern titles from multiple developers. Several large first-party game franchises like Mass Effect, Sims, Battlefield and FIFA have dedicated sections with additional content.

Library

Purchased titles are displayed in the My Game Library tab. You can download new content to the hard drive and install it. There is support for cloud save synchronization. This functionality is helpful for playing on several devices.

Parameters

Similar to Steam, it is possible to specify maximum download speed limits during the gameplay. Automatic client updates can be configured. The included text-to-speech module lets users listen to incoming chat messages instead of reading them.

Please note that Origin is discontinued. It has been replaced with EA Play.
