MySecretFolder is a Windows tool for encrypting confidential data on the hard drive. There is support for the modern AES 256 security algorithm. It is worth noting that the free trial version of MySecretFolder will expire 30 days after activation.

Encryption process

After starting the utility you are instructed to select the target directory that contains important files. Like in Folder Lock, there is an option to completely hide the folder from prying eyes. Alternatively, it is possible to lock access to sensitive data with a strong password.

Instruments for customizing the title and contents of the Unlocking Prompt window are included. Users can leave hints and reminders, ensuring access in case the password is forgotten or lost.

Preferences

You are able to configure any key combination as a shortcut for accessing MySecretFolder parameters. There is a setting for automatically locking access to the protected folder when it is closed. Additionally, tools for protecting password prompts from keyloggers and cleaning system history lists are provided.

Users can enable automatic update checks at predefined intervals. There is an option to add the lock and unlock commands to the Explorer context menu as well.
