Moviestorm is a program for Windows that enables you to make animated videos on your PC. It provides you with a full suite of movie-making instruments with which you can quickly create your own sets, design and direct your actors. It is also possible to edit the footage and publish the project online.

Principle of operation

Since Moviestorm is a 3D animation platform, it is often used to produce machinima, which is a portmanteau of machine and cinema. This technique derived from computer games, and as a result, using this application is a lot like playing The Sims or similar titles. This means you are not required to know anything about three-dimensional modeling or animation to use the main functions. If you want to produce 2D drawings, you may try another utility called TVPaint Animation.

Design set

The first step is to customize stock sets by adding or moving props, painting the walls and floors, changing the sky, and setting up the lighting. Alternatively, you are able to start from scratch and build from there. You also have the option to upload your own images to use as backdrops.

Customize characters

The software gives you the ability to create yourself, your friends, or famous people, for example. In order to do this, you can adjust the morph sliders to change the shape of various features.

All characters may have different decals for skin detail, makeup, eyebrows, beards, and more. In addition to the face, there are a lot of morphing hairstyles to choose from, and costumes to color, re-texture or customize with your own images.
