Lantern is a Windows software for rerouting all web traffic through a remote server in another country. With its help users are able to hide their identity and location from tracking services.

Brief overview

This program contains instruments for connecting to a VPN server and anonymizing web browsing. There is a free version with daily traffic limitations. You can purchase a subscription for enhancing basic functionality and removing data restrictions. No personal information or operation logs are stored on a server. It is not necessary to create an account for using the service.

Configuration

All interactions are performed via the web interface that can be accessed in Chrome, Firefox or another browser. There is an included file sharing platform for secure data transfers. The current VPN server location is displayed in the upper left corner of the interface.

Users are able to run the utility on system startup. Checkboxes for enabling anonymized statistics reports and showing integrated ads are provided. Moreover, it is possible to toggle traffic tunneling. An option to reroute all data through an encrypted server for additional protection is included as well.
