IJ Scan Utility is a Windows tool that lets users scan any documents with the help of a compatible Canon device. If the paper size is larger than the plate, it is possible to automatically stitch two halves together to make a single image file.

Scanning settings

You can use the Auto mode for quick color correction of any photo or document. There is support for postcards, magazines, newspapers and other print media. Settings for the scan quality, data format and destination directory are available. Moreover, you are able to create compressed PDF files that can be opened in Adobe Reader.

Separate parameters are provided for scanning the documents. The paper size and resolution can be customized. It is possible to produce a black and white or color image.

There are options for automatic photo correction. JPEG quality settings can be adjusted as well.

Additional capabilities

Users are able to quickly send the scanned image to any third-party application for further editing. The destination program can be specified in the corresponding drop-down menu. Alternatively, it is possible to attach the file to an email and share it with other people.
