HT203 Handy Steno Repair Tool is a Windows software for fixing the issues with the USB storage devices from Apacer. The interface is simple to use.
Setting up
This program does not require installation. Users can run the executable file to start repairing a USB drive.
Only the devices manufactured by Apacer are officially supported by the tool. You are able to try using it with a third-party drive. However, the results are not guaranteed. A non-compatible device can be damaged in the process.
There are other tools such as HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool for formatting and repairing any USB storage devices.
Formatting tool
The format operation will irreversibly erase all the data on the device. It is recommended to back up any important files using an app like Dell Backup and Recovery Manager or Comodo BackUp.
You are able to select the correct USB drive from the drop-down menu. Additionally, it is possible to choose the resulting file system. Two options are available: FAT32 and NTFS.
Repairing the drive
To reset the device to the factory settings users can click the Restore button. The program will try to repair the USB controller. This feature is helpful for fixing the corrupted file system on the drive.
