Formatter Silicon Power is a program for Windows with which you can format a USB storage device. It supports all models of flash drives based on the PS2251-03 controller manufactured by Silicon Power. The graphical interface is intuitive, and the solution does not require installation on a computer.

Initial steps

Before you start using the tool, you have to connect the media to your PC. The next step is to run the downloaded executable file. It automatically recognizes the flash drive and displays a warning that during the formatting all data will be destroyed. For this reason, it is recommended to backup all important files prior to performing the operation. To enhance communication with the device, you may try installing Silicon power USB Drivers.

Formatting flash drives

After pressing the Format button, the media cleaning process will begin. While the application is running, it is advisable to keep the flash drive plugged into your computer. Removing it may damage the removable storage device.

The formatting time depends on the flash drive volume. When cleaning is complete, a notification will appear on the screen. It is worth noting that the program performs so called low level formatting. This means that the information contained on the device cannot be recovered later.
