CF Flasher is a specialized program for Windows intended for flashing software on the Coldfire MCF54418 board. It is necessary to mention that it exclusively caters to the development platforms specified by the manufacturer company.

Overview

The utility does not require installation. In order to access its functionalities, you need to unpack the archive using tools like 7 Zip, WinZip, or ZArchiver. The next step is to run the executable file by double-clicking its icon.

The graphical interface is well-organized and straightforward. The main window holds several buttons for opening additional menus and a dedicated log display. The first option allows you to select the target configuration, view flash info, choose the BDM communication method, and more.

Functionality

After setting up the device, you can modify memory map settings to differ from their default parameters. This is done to align with the requirements of the software you want to install. Please note that not all microprocessors share the same internal registers.

To upload the program, you have to press the button of the same name and provide its location via the file browser. Here it is also possible to specify the item type, either S-Record or Binary. Additionally, you can view detailed information such as the number of data blocks.
