AVScan is a Windows utility for scanning, processing and organizing paper documents. There is support for optical character recognition, allowing you to automatically convert resulting pages to editable form.

Scanning

After starting the program users are prompted to select the correct device model from the list of detected hardware. The next step is to place the physical document into the scanner and begin the process by clicking the corresponding button.

You can adjust multiple output parameters like resolution, file format and destination directory to streamline repetitive tasks. Instruments for scanning several documents in one go are available as well. This is helpful for enhancing productivity and efficiency.

Image adjustments

It is possible to improve the quality of resulting pictures. There are tools for deskewing, despeckling and auto cropping scanned images. Like in Nuance PDF Converter, an option to transform documents into editable text files is provided.

Users are able to highlight important sections directly on output pages and add personal notes to the project. Information from scanned barcodes can be extracted automatically, streamlining data entry.
